Iceland is highly accessible, situated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean midway between Europe and North America with only 3 hours flight from Europe and 5 hours from the east coast of North America. The capital city Reykjavik is expanding its infrastructure and evolving into a premiere international MICE destination.

  • According to the summer schedule 2015 there were more weekly flights  from Keflavik airport (#114) to N-Amerika than from Oslo (#28), Helsinki (#17) and  Stockholm (#28)  altogether and twice as many than out from Copenhagen (#60).
  • 25 airlines have scheduled flights during summer 2016  to over 80 airports in 69 destinations. During winter 2015/2016 9 airlines serve 45 airports in 39 destinations.

Our flagship carrier Icelandair has made codeshare agreement with Finnair, SAS, Alaska Airlines, Jetblue, WestJest, Porter Airlines, Rossiya and Air Greenland. Icelandair will in year 2016 serve 42 destinations.  Icelandair started a new year-round service from Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) in March 2016, with connections to more than 20 destinations in Europe.
