Lilja Karlsdóttir is the Director of Marketing for Meet in Reykjavík . She holds a Master’s Degree in Tourism studies (M.Sc.) from the University of Iceland.
Thorsteinn Örn is the Managing Director of Meet in Reykjavík. He has vast experience and knowledge as a senior manager within the tourism and airline industry as well as years of experience as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Scandinavia and Singapore. He holds a M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark
Hanna has a M.Sc. in International Events and Conference Management along with studies in Tourism and business from the University of Iceland and Event Management from Sheffield Hallam University. Her previous position was the Conference Manager for Fosshotel Reykjavik. She will be focusing on Meet in Reykjavik Ambassadors, Sport in Reykjavik and bidding for the international conferences along with being the sustainability manager of the office.
Hildur has worked with market research as well as teaching business, service and tourism courses. Hildur has a M.Sc. in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the Universitiy of Gothenburg as well as a Teaching Diploma and a B.Sc. in Business, both from the University of Iceland.
Inga has experience in Project Management and holds a B.Sc in Tourism from the University of Iceland and a M.Sc in Strategic Marketing from London School of Business and Finance. Inga is in charge of Sales Calls, FAM trips, Site inspections, newsletter and is part of the sustainability team. For RFP´s and RFI´s please drop her a line.
Sigurjóna has extensive project management experience from different European countries. Sigurjona has an M.B.A from the University of Iceland and a B.A. degree in Acting from Iceland Academy of the Arts.

Meet in Reykjavík was established in January 2012 for the purpose of creating a core organisation for the long-term advancement into the MICE market (Meetings, incentives, conferences and events).
To increase the proportion of conference, meeting, incentives and event guests to Iceland so that this proportion will be 11% of the tourism market by the year 2020.
Role:To market and present the destination and member associations to the international competitive market and to participate in international collaboration.
To be a source of information about the Icelandic conference and event market and to handle the reception of foreign MICE organisers and reporters.
To connect foreign MICE purchasers with Icelandic Meet in Reykjavík members.
To build a community of Icelandic companies in the conference, incentive and event market and thereby create a venue for specialist knowledge in Iceland.
To promote professional work practices within the sector, obtain statistical information on MICE travellers and be a leading force in policy formulation for MICE travel services.
To assist Icelanders who wish to attend overseas conferences by helping to create marketing material and providing other support. These are called the Meet in Reykjavík ambassadors who collectively form an Ambassador Club.
